Telemedicine Consultations
The purpose of phone consultations are for those seeking alternative methods to healing their animals and are unable to meet with me because it is geographically undesireable. Distance should never be the reason for delayed or unobtained healing. I am also able to provide the service for those located close to me as well. Instead of having to bring your pet in to a veterinary clinic where he or she can be scared, nervous, anxious, fearful or unable to make the trip, I am able to provide house calls. This can spare your pet from experiencing further stress and upset. For these situations, I may request you send in a picture of your pet along with specific medical documentation from previously seen veterinarians ahead of our scheduled appointment.
If you have already seen your general veterinary practitioner and are unable to find resolution of your pet's medical concerns holistic medicine may be able to help. I systematically review the history, physical exam, blood and other diagnostic results, treatments received and progressof your pet's condition(s) from his or her medical records as well as review whatever photos you may have available. I will be able to gather an overall picture of your pet's health state and communicate the alternative/integrative options with you via phone, email correspondence or a house call distance permitting.
Whatever the issue may be, rest assured there are other treatments available besides antibiotics, antifungals, steroids, surgery and others that cause unwanted side effects. However, it is often best medicine to combine many different forms of care because they can work synergistically. The whole idea is to start conservatively and watch the body give us answers to what is working and what is not. A series of progressive steps can be taken until the desired results are obtained. I strongly abide by supporting the body so it can heal itself versus waging a war on a diseased part of the body with pharmaceuticals. Please understand that it takes time to get ill. It takes just as much time for healing to occur if not more. One must be patient in this process.
After a complete review of all medical information provided by the primary veterinarian and information supplied by you, I will write up an entire case report highly detailed and specific for your pet. It will include, but is not limited to, all the medical information I receive and what further treatments are available beyond conventional care that may assist with your pet's return to health. I provide as many alternative/integrative options as possible with information on length of use, administration, how it works, when and what results should be seen, diet/nutritional consultation (when needed) and provide case follow-up for those current issues. I will keep in touch with you to monitor the progress of your pet once treatment has begun.
Often times treatments change and have to be adapted to the pet as he or she begins shifting towards health. Different symptoms may surface as healing begins and those will need to be addressed appropriately when they present themselves. True healing occurs in layers. Removal of toxins, blockages, dysbiosis and dysfunction allows clearance and return of health in the originally impaired organs so they may communicate and function appropriately with all other organ systems in the body. All body systems are connected. For instance, if the liver is not functioning properly, most likely the small intestines are not in their optimal state of health either. Once the liver obtains better function, it may take time for the small intestines to catch up or vice versa. In the midst of that, other symptoms may surface such as blood in the stool, loose diarrhea, increased swetting, mucus discharge, increased water intake and urination. These changes are a reflection of the body processing the new help its receiving. These changes should be welcomed as it is the body's way of purging the bad that has been causing the problems all along.
Each case is unique, different and treated as such. Not only will the physical symptoms be addressed, but the mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of the pet will be focused on as well. It is my goal to provide the best holistic care as possible and use safe, gentle and effective methods. Many times, pets have emotional or spiritual issues tied in with the physical. The physical issues may not resolve until the emotional or spiritual elements have been mended. No pet or pet owner should feel lost or that they have reached the end of what options are available to heal their companion.
