EORTH and dental disease in horses are very similar to dental disease in humans, cats and dogs; we just call it something different. Bacteria aggregate on the horse's teeth just like dogs and cats from not brushing or flossing daily. The bacteria form plaque which over time turns to tartar when left untreated. The gold standard for dental care is at-home treatment every single day. Equine Sarcoids (Fibrosarcoma Tumors)
Jan 11 photos, the horse was not able to walk without pain, bleeding and trauma to the tumors. The tumors would rub on the inside of the legs and cause friction, become open sores, attract flies and maggots. By March, this was much reduced. In April, the horse was able to be ridden again. After June 17, the horse was in regular work and then retired to Georgia in pasture as a senior gelding.
