Aromatherapy for horses
"Odors have a power of persuasion stronger than that of words, appearances, emotions or will. The persuasive power of an odor cannot be fended off, it enters into us like breath into our lungs, it fills us up, imbues us totally. There is no remedy for it."

How does aromatherapy work?
Aromatherapy uses plant-derived scents to provide a sensory experience that may support relaxation and emotional well-being in animals. When an animal inhales certain essential oils, the scent stimulates the olfactory system, which is connected to the brain’s limbic system—the region involved in emotion and memory.
Aromatherapy may be used as a complementary approach to help support calmness, focus, and overall comfort in horses, particularly in situations that may be stressful such as training, transportation, veterinary visits, or hospitalization. It can also be used to promote engagement with the environment in a safe and controlled manner.
Aromatherapy is offered at Vital Equine as a supportive, complementary modality and is never used as a replacement for veterinary evaluation, diagnosis, or treatment of medical conditions. All essential oils are applied safely and under veterinary guidance to minimize risk and ensure suitability for each individual animal.
